Father Leo Arnone (left), Pastor of Saint Aloysius and Saint Francis Xavier Parishes in Cresson and All Saints School in Cresson, is also involved in the United States Navy as a reservist. Some time ago, he was informed of the Navy’s intention to call him up for active duty and deploy him overseas for a year.
In order to allow this deployment to take place, Bishop Mark has authorized the following changes in assignment.
Effective November 24, 2017, Father Leo Arnone has been released from his current Diocesan assignments in order to serve as full time Chaplain to the United States Navy for the proposed one year deployment. In his absence, Father Matthew Reese (right), the current Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Williamsburg, has been appointed Temporary Administrator of Saint Aloysius and Saint Francis Xavier Parishes and All Saints School. Father Reese will continue to serve as the Diocesan Director of Vocations.
Pastoral coverage for Saint Joseph Parish in Williamsburg will be announced along with further fall clergy assignment changes at a later date.
Father James Dugan, In Residence at Saint Mary Parish in Hollidaysburg, appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Altoona. This appointment is effective November 24, 2017.
