Youth Protection in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown
Promise to Protect. Pledge to Heal.
The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is committed to the safety and well-being of every person it serves — especially children and vulnerable adults. Guided by the USCCB Charter and a firm diocesan Youth Protection Policy, the Diocese has established a Safe Environments Program to minimize risk and build a culture of safety across all parishes, schools, and ministries.
Support for Survivors
The Diocese does not tolerate abuse or neglect of any kind. For those who have been harmed, resources are available through the Victim Assistance Coordinator, along with support services designed to promote healing with justice and compassion.
For Employees, Volunteers & Families
All diocesan personnel — clergy, employees, and volunteers — are required to complete safe environment training. Parents and youth will also find helpful resources, awareness information, and guidance on recognizing and reporting abuse.
