Divine Mercy Sunday
Note: Since public Masses and other liturgical activities are suspended in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown, the faithful are still encouraged to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday through prayer at home. Although the faithful are unable to receive Holy Communion and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, they may still receive the Plenary Indulgence promised by praying at home the Spiritual Communion Prayer and the Act of Contrition, with a promise to receive the Eucharist and go to Confession as soon as possible.
(Prayed in place of the Angelus during the Easter Season)
Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
Pray for us to God, alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
