Back to School

The 14 elementary schools and four independent Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown are up and running for the 2017-2018 academic year. Welcome back students, parents, and educators!

At Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in State College, students and faculty committed themselves and their work this school year to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. An enthronement ceremony was held during the school Mass on August 30.

Father Neil Dadey, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Parish/School, blessed framed images of the Sacred Heart held by representatives from each grade. Father Dadey and Parochial Vicars Father Antony Sudherson and Father Jonathan Dickson blessed each classroom in which the images will be displayed.

“Consecrating our school year to the Sacred Heart is one of the first ways we are putting into practice this year’s school theme, Follow the Son,” said OLV principal Samantha Weakland.
